The idea of restoring a home back to its original beauty is what makes renovation projects so exciting. When we were asked to turn this 1980’s home into something sophisticated, we couldn’t wait to get started! The homeowners wanted to maintain much of the original structure, so some areas of the home were fully renovated while other areas were cosmetically altered. Throughout the process, we worked with the architect and builder to develop a cohesive design.
All Things Luxury…
In keeping with our client’s desire to incorporate original elements into their new design, we kept the brass and iron handrail in the entryway and the marble-clad antique mirror fireplace in The Great Room. This space was originally encased in red mahogany walls and served as a grand library and trophy room. However, the homeowners love to entertain friends, family and philanthropically, so we wanted to transform this library into a large and sophisticated Great Room – perfect for hosting guests. This room quickly became one of the most important spaces in the home!
Next, we wanted to make this space the center of attention in the house, so we worked with a local wood floor company to refinish the entire space. Then, every star of the show needs a dramatic entrance, so we design a black-paneled gallery as the entrance to this grand entertainment space. The floor was designed with Thassos Marble, Crema Marfil marble, and Absolute Black granite. The striking design draws the eye to the handsomely appointed bar with ebonized stained cabinetry.
The tailored design is bold, airy and perfect for entertaining. Let’s take a peek inside this stunning home.
This project was all about creating a space rich in color, texture and luxurious details to give it the ultimate wow factor! This project won the 2016 Renegeration Award at the International Design & Architecture Awards (IDAA) put on by Design et al in the UK. It’s such a stunning home and we were honored to have received the award. We had so much fun restoring this home and would love to chat with you about how we can help you with your renovation.
