Tile is one of the most versatile materials you can use in your home. You can use it as flooring, as a backsplash or even as a wallcovering. Because it comes in different shapes, sizes and colors, you have the flexibility to develop your own unique tile designs for the home. You can create a stunning floor pattern to mimic a rug or use tiles on the wall to create a piece of art.
Twice a year, I visit High Point Market in North Carolina to discover the latest and greatest of the interior design world. Visiting my favorite showrooms and gaining insight into where the industry is headed are very important (and fun!) parts of my job. New product introductions are a special joy. It’s almost overwhelming how inspiring just one showroom can be! And it helps me find the pulse of next year’s trends. Now that it’s December, I’m taking a look back at October’s High Point Market style. And possibly creating a 2019 wish list for myself…

It’s Thanksgiving week and the team here at Laura U is thankful for so many things! Our annual office potluck was an enormous success, and we made sure to go around the table to express our gratitude for all the wonderful things in our lives. From family to great food, from fabulous projects to new beginnings, from good friends to work successes, we all felt so grateful for what brings us joy day in and day out. And of course, for what brings us all together in the office: luxuriously livable design.
Over the years, wallpaper has received a reputation for being an archaic, out-of-style trend. But this couldn’t be further from the truth! At Laura U, wallpaper never went out of style. Custom-made, intricately detailed, or hand-painted wall coverings are the Classically Current solution for transforming a drab space, and are quite luxurious, especially when made from fine silk or satin. This week we break down our favorites.
While I may not look like I am stepping off a runway on the daily, I love keeping tabs on the fashion industry. Haute couture and interior design have so much in common, so having an eye on the latest trends and colors is super important for a designer.
