January is all about getting a fresh start, finding new sources of inspiration and learning about all the new up and coming products in the design world. It also means that we get to take a trip to Dallas for the Dallas Total Gift and Accessories Market – so fun! This year was even more exciting because the entire design team joined!
It was a weekend full of great finds, lots of new inspiration, a little design team bonding – and a few cocktails. Today I’m sharing a recap of the trip and highlighting of a few of our favorite finds.
While we were in Dallas, I made sure to schedule some time to visit Tai Ping‘s Showroom to meet with my good friend, Corbin Perkins, for a progress update on our Laura U x Tai Ping Collection. The samples look gorgeous and it’s wonderful to see everything starting to come together! You can check out the details of our exciting “Chopped and Screwed Chinoiserie” collab here.
Our next stop was to the fabulous Gracie Studio to meet with McCall Bikham. Gracie wallpaper collections are a dream and a personal favorite of mine! They are each hand painted and one-of-a-kind. I’m SO EXCITED to showcase a brand new design from Gracie in the Boulevard Show House. (There will be more gorgeous updates on this soon!).
From there we explored what Dallas Market had in store…
Mirror framed mirrored with silver leaf sides from Mirror Image Home
Toshi Mirror via Noir
Fun, modern hologram wallpaper and mirror at Allan Knight
Whimsical Picture Gallery from Paragon
I love this sweet and colorful take on classic storybooks covers – perfect for a kid’s room or playroom. I think I need this for my girls!
Tambour Sink Chest from Ambella Home
Fringed ombre ottomans via Scott + Cooner
Then how gorgeous are these?! The neutral color and texture is a perfect combination for making a statement and I love all the movement.
This gorgeous cane back chair was a great find! It’s from a cool vintage shop called Circa20c. The mid-century design of this sleek, retro chair is super fun! And the mix of metallics with natural fibers is stunning.
Organic and Glam Lighting
Ginza Table Lamp from Currey & Co
Bella Chandelier via Currey & Co
Time to unwind!
After seeing all the awesome finds Dallas Market had to offer, it was definitely time to take the team for a happy hour at CBD Provisions. They have delish food and even better cocktails – just take a peek at this yummy concoction!
That’s a wrap! We headed back to our hotel, The Adolphus, in historic downtown Dallas. It’s been around since 1912 and was recently renovated. It’s modeled after a beaux arts German castle and has beautiful retro and modern details. You definitely want to check it out next time your in Dallas!
Wow! It was a busy weekend, but we saw so many fabulous things and had such a great time. Going to market is such a great experience and the team definitely left feeling inspired!
