Farewell, Dryden. Hello, Boulevard Oaks!
I have big news to share. My family and I have recently decided it’s time for some major changes around our house and, by major changes, I mean a whole new house! Yep, you read that right, we have packed up our lovely bungalow on Dryden and are taking on an adventure in the complete transformation of a new home.
Read on for more details and a sneak peek of our new home (once we actually move in, of course)!
In true Umansky fashion, this new project will be no small feat. We recently purchased a 1920’s-style tudor home in Houston’s Boulevard Oaks neighborhood and it will require a full and complete renovation before we can even think about moving in! I’m talking full buildouts, electrical work, plumbing, landscaping, appliances, complete redesign of the interiors (my favorite, of course!) – the whole nine yards.
While the task seems pretty daunting at the moment, I am so excited to get started. From chronicling the mini-reno of Dryden last year to the installation of one of my Vetrazzo by Laura U surfaces in the kitchen, I am a big fan of using my home as a test kitchen for designs and love sharing those experiences here with you! The renovation of our Boulevard home will allow for so many opportunities to do both of those things and I can’t wait to share the good, the bad and the ugly of the whole renovation process.
To kick things off, join me on the Laura U Facebook page on Monday, July 10, at 2:30 p.m. for a live walk-through of the home to see just what we have gotten ourselves into (spoiler alert: you may just see some 70’s-style wooden paneling and red shag carpet reminiscent of the 80’s).
In the meantime, here is a sneak peek of the exterior of the home. Cheers to new beginnings (and a whole lot of work)!
