October has been a month of travels, several team member birthdays (including a milestone for this one right here) and TONS of inspiration. As you probably know – because I constantly talk about it! – October brings my annual trip to High Point Market. It’s the best opportunity for the industry to discover new introductions from the best design houses and manufacturers in the US. This is a market visit I eagerly anticipate each fall so, if you haven’t checked out my HPMKT Recap, give it a read.
As this eventful month comes to a close the Laura U team is happy to share our new sources of inspiration. From bold furnishings, to fun lighting, to gorgeous accents we can’t wait to share our finds with you. I hope you discover your next obsession here too!
Glamorous and Unexpected
“Working on my own kitchen has me obsessing over shelf brackets! My kitchen isn’t huge so I am very into the idea of open shelves installed over windows to max out my storage space. I am especially loving the Strap Shelf Shelves (ordered these for myself!) and the Stepped Shelf brackets from Rejuvenation Hardware.”
– Laura Umansky, President and Creative Director
“I’ve always been a fan of the edginess and glam of Gabriel Scott’s lighting (we are actually installing one of his gorgeous fixtures in a home this week). I am currently obsessing over his Welles Double-Blown sconces. They are like gems on your wall! I cannot wait to find a home for these!”
– Shannon Smith, Senior Interior Designer
“I am currently obsessing over Apparatus’ horsehair sconces. They are beautifully structured yet appear to hang effortlessly against a wall. The beautiful tarnish silver finished married with the texture of the horsehair are eye-catching in their own right, but pair them with a stunning piece of art and WOW is all I can say! I can’t get enough! Tucking these into my inspiration folder for a future project.”
– Shenay Keyes, Lead Interior Designer
“I adore their playful nature and clean lines – I can definitely see them in a Palm Springs inspired cabana space. Plus the leaf and feather plume is hand-made out of brass then painted. Love!”
– Blair Foster, Lead Interior Designer
“I’m loving the Bambi Chair from Kinder Modern! This chair is such a fun and whimsical addition to a playroom for your favorite little ones. Thoughtful details like the antlers and faux fur make this chair just the CUTEST!”
– Lexie Terry, Associate Designer
